Report of the Glenn Corneille Benefit concert on 16 September 2006 in De Maaspoort in Venlo

Gé Titulaer had the honours to open the evening together with the band Swing Design under the leadership of Bart Rademakers, with 'You've got a friend'. After this Toine Hazenbosch welcomed everybody and told that at the end of the evening the cheque for the study fund for the two children of Glenn, Nathan and Quincy, would be handed over. Then the singer Renée van Wegberg entered the stage and sang for us 'Addagio'. The whole theatre was quiet because of her wonderful voice. Sef Thissen, well-known by the members who were present in Tegelen, sang 'Non piu drai'. Followed by his lovely wife Leta Bell with a beautiful interpretation of 'Imagine'. Des'Ray closed the first block with the song 'Last Dance'.

Boris opened the second block with 'I've got you under my skin', 'For all we know' and 'Joyride'. The singer Des'ray entered the stage again and closed the second block with 'Proud Mary'.

Then it was time for Alessandro, he took care of the whole third block. Under loud cheering from the members of the fan club who were present he entered the stage. He started with a beautiful interpretation of 'Aria e Memoria', followed by a fantasticly sung 'Fine non ha mai'. This was very special, because this was the first song he did together with Glenn. The swinging D'Amore was the next song he sang and the last one of this block was 'Musica di Te'. Then it was time for a drink. In the lobby the members of the fan club came together to catch up.

Leta Bell opened the first block with 'Streetlife' followed by her husband Sef with 'Shenandoah'. Then it was again time for Renée with the swinging song 'Big Time'. Gé Titulaer and Des'ray ended the block with 'How do we keep the Music play'. In the next block Boris sang 'Whats going on' and 'A beautiful day'. Then Leta Bell sang the beautiful song 'Cry me a River' accompanied by the piano player Folkert. Thgen we heard the song 'Granada' , this time sung by Sef Thissen. Gé Titulaer ended with a Lou Rawls medley.

The very last block was reserved for Alessandro. He started with 'Incanto' and that song was followed by the well-known song 'Luna'. Leta Bell sang the 'Only you' part and danced during the song. Then the audience could go crazy, they clapped enthusiasticly during 'Funiculi Funicula'. Closing off Alessandro sang the well-known Italian song 'O Sole Mio' only accompanied by Folkert on the piano and Bart Rademakers on keyboard. That was so beautifull that everybody rised to give him a standing ovation!

Then Glenn's parents and brother were invited on the stage and received a cheque of 5.369,-- euro for the study fund. That was an emotional moment. After this Glenn's mother thanked everybody and all the artists came on stage and closed the evening with 'That's what friends are for'.

On behalf of the fan club members who were present during the concert:
Alessandro, tanti mille grazie per tutti!!!
